Bibs With A Twist

It was either 4th or 5th grade…I’m pretty sure it was 5th grade, that I vividly remember wearing overalls. In fact, I’m pretty sure I was wearing them for picture day. Any who, I know that I have not worn overalls {or bibs as we call them down South} since then. That was literally 17 years ago…omg 17 years ago. I’m getting old.

But on a more serious note, it’s no suprise that “bibs” are back on the fashion scene. For those loyal fashion followers, you already know that overalls have been making their comeback for the last 2 years now. Unsure of reliving my 5th grade days, I had yet to “try” wearing them again until I happened upon this uniquely classic pair from Abercrombie. They are indeed overalls, but they have a slight twist if you will. With a capri-esque shape, the ashy black wash and the fray detailing captivated me! Without question, they have a mature vibe to them. And honestly, that’s why I’m LOVING Abercrombie these days. They’ve really nailed the idea of taking those nostalgia pieces that I loved as a 5th grader, middle schooler and high schooler and given them new meaning both literally and stylistically. To say that I am over the moon about Abercrombie’s rebrand would be an understatement. Since the grand opening event two weeks ago, I’ve made a couple trips back just to pick up some new pieces in preparation for Spring {if it ever comes…ugh…this winter}. During my most recent Abercrombie run, I could not resist picking up this adorable poplin top and this purple washed bandana, as I knew I wanted to style my bibs in a bit of an unorthodox manner.  You guys know that I love CONTRAST. I’m not sure what screams contrast quite like a girly blouse and a masculine pair of bibs. Oh, I also got this mockneck bell sleeve top that I plan on wearing this Sunday with these exact overalls.

Just go ahead and prepare yourselves, you’re gonna be seeing a lot of Abercrombie on Live Love and Read this Spring. I’m completely and utterly obsessed and you guys know why now, I don’t just say that! If you haven’t had a chance to visit the new store concept at Polaris Fashion Place, be sure to make that happen ASAP. I was just there late last week and they were having some sales promotions! Who doesn’t love a good sale?
