Hello, it’s me. Ha. It’s been a hot minute and I’m coming out of retirement to share this edgy look with you guys. And I’m not sharing just any look, but a look with a major trend moment happening. Say hello to this incredibly cool faux leather top. Just in case you haven’t recieved word yet, LEATHER is kind of a MAJOR deal for Spring/Summer ’20. I know, I know, it can be hard to imagine the reality of this trend in everyday life, but I am here to report it is indeed a thing and very wearable.
Before the World temporarily paused, I happened upon this cream faux leather blouse while shopping for a client and gasped. The puff sleeve, the square neck line, the button detail all screamed sweet femininity, but with a dose of edginess thanks to the leather fabrication. When it came to styling this piece, I wanted to focus on balancing out the feminine elements and the edginess. To accomplish that, I opted for a light wash distressed denim and gold accessories with some modernity. One of the things I have noticed with my personal style here lately is that I have a tendency to be all neutrals everything with my accessories. Nude pump, cream handbag, etc. There is nothing wrong with that, but it can lean a little flat when you do that 24/7. I was encouraged to play a bit and find something more unique and with that I landed on these strappy yellow sandals and this brown handbag. I really love how the final look came together.
So I guess that’s it for today. A simple hello, a new look and a few leather pieces I am currently loving.
