Yay.  Spring is finally here!  Although the sun is shining brighter and the birds are singing, the weather here in West Virginia is still a tad chilly.  I will gladly take cool, windy days over below freezing temperatures and snow any day, as I have discovered that I absolutely HATE the snow. Guess I should probably get over that, seeing that I now live in the Northeastern part of the country. Any who, I really love wearing sweaters and scarves year round. So as you can imagine, I am taking full advantage of the breezy weather by wearing some of my “lighter” yet warm and cozy pieces.

I am completely obsessing over the seasonal sweater trend for this spring because I love sweaters and I already wear them year round regardless of the temperature.  I won’t dwell on this topic too much, as I’ll be doing a post about the ever wonderful seasonal sweater next week.  Oh yes, this is from Beauty Clinique Boutique.  I snagged it last week while I was in town.  I love how easy and effortless this piece is.

Morning Sun Say hello to Maylene, Kimberly’s precious pup and now momma to 7 cute little sheltie baby pups.  Maylene is quite possibly the sweetest and most obedient dog I’ve ever met.  She was all about having her photo taken and according to Kimberly she typically runs the other way when she sees the camera.  I guess I’m the “Photo Whisperer.”

One of the biggest accessory trends…HATS, HATS, AND MORE HATS, which I love!  However, I have learned that it is not easy to find both an affordable hat and one that fits your head and face shape.  If I told you how long I shopped for a hat like this one, you would cry in disbelief.  One day while making a quick stop in Target for some eyeliner, I decided to take a gander into the accessory section (always a bad idea for me because I always find something I want) and found this, the most perfect floppy hat!  And not to mention it was only $16.  As you can see, it went home with me.  What I love most about this hat in comparison to my black floppy hat (SEE HERE) is that it has a much smaller brim.  It is a bit more practical for everyday wear.

These jeans.  Absolutely wonderful.  You will be tickled to know that I actually purchased them in 2008 from Ally B Boutique.  That was the first time EVER that I spent $150 on jeans, but I would say the money was well spent, seeing that they’ve lasted me 7 years.  The wash has a slight shimmer, which I really love!  Oh yes, although these jeans are from Ally B, Sierra Trading Post is having a sale on a pair of jeans similar to this pair for just $59.96 and that’s one heck of a deal.  Be sure to click the link down below and it will reroute ya to the site.

As for the shoes, I picked these puppies up from Rack Room Shoes a while back. I think they were $35 bucks. I checked the site and unfortunately, they no longer have these shoes 🙁  But I posted a few links as to where you can find a similar pair.

I bought this scarf just because of the yellow!  For those of you who don’t know, yellow is my MOST FAVORITE color to wear.  I just love how it compliments my skin tone.

I just realized that I am missing a button on this jacket!  Ha. Do you see where?

So today’s #GTLT moral simply touches on a few fashion myths and they are:

1. Sweaters and scarves can totally be worn year round! I consider these two items as KEY seasonal pieces for my wardrobe. I just adapt them from season to season, which keeps me from purchasing a brand new wardrobe for every season.

2. It is completely OK to wear a sweater and sandals together.

3. Spending money on an expensive pair of jeans ISN’T a waste of money. While it may not be practical to purchase them often, I would encourage you to do it at least once! Trust me. You will feel the difference and quite possibly never want to go back to wearing cheaper brands. It’s a magical experience.
