I was in Dallas, TX just two short weeks ago for the 6th annual rewardStyle Conference (also known as #rstheCon in the influencer world). Just to provide some context for you guys, rewardStyle is this amazing brand/company that developed LIKEtoKNOW.it, which allows you to easily shop my and other influencers content. Honestly, it’s pretty much the coolest thing and I’ve been a part of their community for many years. Considering that this is an invite-only conference, I nearly died when I received the invitation (in a good way). I called Jason and squealed! There wasn’t a question of if we were going or not, but more or less, when can you snag us some plane tickets. Ha.

The timing of the invitation could not have been more perfect, as I’ve been toying with how I can improve things here on candacemread-archives.com. I want to add more depth and dimension to what you are reading here. #rStheCon is kind of a fashionable ACT crash course. Jam packed with learning from industry experts, networking with peers, meeting brands and outfit changes…lots of outfit changes for the various events within the conference schedule. Before you ask, no these outfit changes aren’t mandatory, but I am a wardrobe stylist and I love creating a story through clothing. One of the things I love about royal fashion is how slide showy it is…we especially see this with Kate Middleton. If you want to learn more about Royal’s fashion slide show, read THIS. Feeling inspired by that idea, I wanted to create my own slide show for the weekend and that’s exactly what I did. I created a story of outfits that built upon one another and seamlessly transitioned from one to the other. Here’s a quick a little look!

Day 1 // Outfit No. 1 // Occasion: Pool Party with Sole Society

BLOUSE | DENIM | MULES | CLUTCH | SUNGLASSES

A pool party just screams for white denim. And I finally found a pair that I love and wanted to be sure to wear them during the weekend. For this poolside soiree, I wore this pleated bell sleeve top that I found just a few days before taking off to Dallas. Layered necklaces and shell earrings paired with an acrylic box clutch, did the trick for finishing touches.  And oh yes, my beloved white mules!

Day 2 // Outfit No. 2 // Occasion: Mainstage Event

DRESS | DENIM JACKET | SUNGLASSES | MULES | HANDBAG | EARRINGS

I love a good dress! In fact, I am way more of a dress lover than I care to admit. Haha. This olive green mini dress was a perfect way to start the day. One of the things I love most about this dress is that it came with a belt. I have a short torso, so I need all the definition I can get through the waist. When styling this dress (and really my entire weekend of outfits), I wanted to be sure that I felt casual and approachable. With that in mind, I added a denim jacket here and an easy leather bag. And of course, these mules that I cannot stop raving about! Most definitely my favorite shoe right now!

Day 2 // Outfit No. 2 // Classes + Brand Meetings

BLAZER | CAMI | SKIRT | SNEAKER | EARRINGS | SUNGLASSES | CLUTCH

For the olive green continuation, I opted for this pleated midi skirt! Styled with a simple camisole and blush/nude blazer. For the causal factor, I reached for my ever handy Adidas superstars and a straw clutch. I only had this look on for a few hours, but I really enjoyed wearing it. It felt fresh and chic.

Day 2 // Outfit No. 3 // Cocktail Party with Ebay

DRESS | BLAZER | CLUTCH | SANDALS | SUNGLASSES | BELT

So yes, the blazer and clutch from the previous look was most definitely a little fashion foreshadowing! ha. We had an early evening cocktail party, so a dress felt most appropriate for the occasion. But again, style and personality was KEY for me. Layered up necklaces and a studded sandal finished off this look perfectly. It felt polished, but a little edgy…I love a good balance of both.

And there you have it, Part I! I have part II coming your way here shortly. It’s only two looks, but I am thinking I will put together a master collage of all the styling, so you can see how fluid the outfit slide show was. LOL.

Unit next time frands!
