Get The Look Thursdays: Lunch Break

Since becoming a “Read” ~~almost 15 months~~ I’ve taken a serious liking to ice cream. In fact we’ve adopted a family motto, “Without ice cream there would be darkness and chaos.” Yup, that’s how serious the Reads take ice cream. LOL. When Jason and I first got married, we literally ate it every night after dinner. However, I soon realized that my goal of becoming a future rocking hot mom would not happen if I kept eating ice cream every night, so, now I just occasionally enjoy it. But I must admit, whenever I spot Jeni’s Ice Cream, all bets are off. I’m definitely going inside to enjoy a sugar cone with Brambleberry Crisp and Brown Butter Almond Brittle. And that’s exactly what I did last week while in-between meetings…an ice cream lunch break.

Just taking a moment to check my Instagram. I’m seriously obsessed. That could be a problem. Actually, I know it’s a problem. During winter break (yes, I’m back in school…I’ll be sharing details about that soon), I’ll be doing a 3 to 5 day fast from ALL technology.

Seriously the best ice cream on the planet. God bless Jeni Bauer for making such great creamy, ice cream goodness. Oh yes, random factoid: Jeni’s Ice Cream started in Columbus, OH! As they say, “Ohio is the TEST capital of the nation. If it succeeds in Ohio, it will succeed anywhere.” And I would say that’s pretty darn accurate.

I’ve had these Barbie pink pumps for 3 years and have only worn them twice! Since I’m human, I will admit that I’ve had a hard time styling them. The color is soooo loud (which I love) and because of that, styling these requires so much effort, as you don’t want to over do it. But the fashion light bulb FINALLY came on as I was cleaning out my closet a few weeks ago…white on white with a little splash of color. Duh, it worked! And since we are talking all white, it is COMPLETELY OK to wear white post Labor Day. That is no longer a rule. So just go for it and rock that white all year long!

To highlight the Barbie pink pumps, I thought it would be best to add this ILY Couture statement necklace, as it has a little hint of pink that is softer than the shoe color. I also went with a pink lip so everything was nice and balanced from head to toe. And lastly, let’s take a moment to talk about the green lining on the inside of the collar. It’s beautiful and wonderfully enhances the various colors in the necklace. I love little details like that!

The next time you spot that overly loud pair of shoes (top, pant or whatever) that you know you cannot live without, but have no clue how you will wear it…purchase it any ways! While you may not wear it right away, you’ll wear it eventually (Disclaimer: If you are a Stage 5 Clothing Hoarder, you may not need to take heed to this advice, as I do not want to enable you to hoard even more! LOL.) And oh yes, if you spot a Jeni’s Ice Cream, definitely go in!
