One of the greatest things about being a style blogger is the creative freedom you have. Since I’m my own boss, I always have the liberty to explore new things in hopes of creating a better blog for YOU! Over the past couple of months, I (along with a few other awesome peeps that I will honor in a future blog post) have been working feverishly to strengthen the Live, Love and Read brand. One of those strengthening areas happens to be “location diversity” for Get the Look Thursdays. While I would love to say that it is my outfit alone that keeps you coming back each and every Thursday, I simply know that is not the entire truth. It’s a combination of the outfit, the photography and most importantly, the location! It is the location that helps captivate the very essence of the look that I’m sharing. So, while I was assembling September’s looks and began creating “Fashion Code”, I just knew that I had to shoot this look at Sole Classics.

Fashion Code | Live Love & Read | Style Blog| Personal Stylist My t-shirt styling is evolving and I couldn’t be happier. Now that I’m comfortable with the “graphic tees are cool” thought, styling these babies has become much easier for me. Just in case you haven’t gotten the memo, graphic tees are going to be HUGE this fall. I actually just purchased another one last week. For those of you who are still unsure about this trend, be sure to read THIS post from 2 weeks ago. I’m positive it will help ya!

IMG_4574I always wanted a pair of Converse, but considering my track record with sneakers (as I hate socks) I would always talk myself out of it! Well, one day while randomly shopping, I happened upon these Fancy Ox Chuck Taylors and knew that I could not live without them. Let’s just say…BEST PURCHASE EVER. I’m obsessed with these kicks.

In hopes of putting a different spin on my usual t-shirt styling, I decided to layer this look with a jersey dress that I purchased 2 years ago from H&M and had not worn. My goal was to create a unique dress up/dress down look. I really love the variety of abstraction in this look and how it all comes together. That my friends is what we call a fashion miracle.

Today, I would just like to encourage you to go extra the mile! Even when you think things are good (i.e. my blog, my personal style), know that there is always room to grow. Growth only happens when you are willing to take a step back and honestly examine those areas of your life where you have become comfortable! Comfortable is good for a season, but sometimes you just have to go the extra mile! So, here’s to a season of CHANGE, because positive change is indeed good : )

Oh, yes, a big thank you to Dionte and Dez of Sole Classics and Brittany Winkfield for making this location shoot possible!! You guys are awesome : )

Until next time…

  1. I love the t-shirt styling! So great for casual days! It’s stylish without being formal, which I find can be a challenge 🙂

Side note, will you be doing the Heirloom Finds gift card giveaway?
