Get The Look Thursdays: Ivy

We are week three post Labor Day and I’m still working the white. I’ve always LOVED white, but my love for it has intensified after seeing all of the street style from #NYFW and evening gowns from Miss America…sooooo much WHITE. So, I’m currently going thru a “wear white as often as you can” phase. I’m sure it will pass, but in the meantime I will just enjoy and marvel in wearing and purchasing white often (sorry ~~not sorry~~Jason).

Now that fall is officially here, I will be wearing the vampy lip color on the regular! I know that there are tons of people who don’t like it (and I understand why because it’s UBER DARK), but it just adds a richness to your look like no other lipstick. Eeeek, I just love it. Also, I should mention that my husband ABSOLUTELY HATES this lip color. He just doesn’t get why it’s so amazingly awesome (or any lipstick for that matter).

Ok, so I’m just obsessed with the silhouette I achieved with this look! I love that by simply adding a belt (much like adding a vampy lip) it changed the entire aesthetic of the ensemble. Initially when I styled this outfit, I had yet to incorporate a belt, which left it feeling very casual and summery. While I love that feel, I was wanting something more, so I added a belt and it immediately created this effortlessly chic and classic look.

This piece has become a staple in my jewelry collection, much like the Delicate Raymond Vintage Monogram necklace. I am all about investing in key jewelry pieces that can be worn over and over again. That’s what I call being “purchase savvy.”

And there’s a little glimpse into my white obsession. Also, I just wanted to take a quick moment and apologize for being MIA this week! Things have been a little crazy between work, school, blog rebranding and much more. I am currently in Atlanta on a work adventure with Sherri Hill and on Sunday I’ll be flying to New York for the New York City Ballet Fall Gala! So please bear with me as I get through these next couple weeks of travel and transitions : ) Not to worry, I’ll be posting #GTLT’s even if I don’t post anything else that week! Just wanted to let ya know.
