I am still in awe that we are almost half way thru December! Time has seriously flown by this year. However, it’s been a year full of new adventures and friendships. And speaking of friendships, this past October I had the wonderful opportunity to connect with Belinda Frazer of House of Phrase (thanks to Instagram). We all have those relationships in life when you meet someone and you instantly connect. You feel like you’ve known them your entire life! Welp, that’s my relationship with Belinda. Not only is she drop dead gorgeous, but she’s intelligent, passionate, hardworking and loving. And yes, you need to check out her blog, House of Phrase. It’s THE “online destination for the stylish, conscientious shopper to discover, share and ultimately buy better.”

Back in October, over our 2 hour lunch date at Katzingers Delicatsen, we discussed teaming up for a little blogger shoot fun. Nearly 9 weeks later (yup, we are both that busy and no, we don’t sleep), we were able to coordinate our schedules and shoot/share our approach to holiday style. While we both love the glamorous things in life, we really just wanted to showcase a more practical approach to holiday styling. In hopes of achieving that, Belinda and I went to the backs of our closets and pulled things that we already had. For me it was the sweater and sequin skirt and for Belinda it was the sweater dress. From there we simply layered and accessorized with some of our favorite holiday-esque pieces. And why of course, bold red lipstick. No holiday look is complete without a little red lipstick. lol. More than anything, we just want you to know that you DON’T NEED anything new for the holiday season. Often times we already own great wardrobe statements that simply need a little reworking to make them appear different than the last time we wore them. Having great holiday style is about being practical, resourceful and most importantly, knowing that the reason for the season isn’t about having a killer holiday wardrobe, but sooooooo much more!

Happy Holidays! xoxo, CR
