I’ve been digging the turban trend for quite some time now! However, it hasn’t been until recent that I finally mustarded up the courage to give the trend a whirl. I’ve been told that I have a large forehead (my sisters!), so I typically steer clear of things that accentuate that feature. I made my decision to try a turban just a few days before making my December visit to IL Moda. And guess what was in the showroom? Turbans, turbans and more turbans! I’m pretty sure God was giving me a clue…”Now, Candace. Now is the time to try the turban.” Ok, not really, but that’s how I felt in the moment.

Though I had made the decision mentally, I still wasn’t physically ready to commit. But thanks to positive encouragement from Lubna (the founder of IL Moda) and Kimberly, I decided to try one on and instantly fell in love. You know that moment when you’re like, “OMG, why didn’t I try this sooner?” Welp, I was having that kinda moment. To my surprise, not only did I love the Elleon Accessories turban, but I also loved the color combination. Upon deciding it was the ONE, I immediately started styling in my head, as I had just purchased this fab cowl neck Tahari sweater from TJ Maxx. I’m sure you’re thinking…”she just said that in last’s week post”, but I seriously shop at TJ Maxx on the regular. I go in at least once a week and RARELY do I leave empty handed. I am THE epitome of a MAXXINISTA! Any who, I had just purchased a deep violet sweater that would beautifully compliment the turban. And it did!  Before leaving IL Moda, I decided to grab this beautiful camel colored clutch by Tohni Bekka, as I had already decided that I would wear white jeans and my BCBGeneration boots. For a finishing touch, I added my blue gradient lens aviators, as they made the navy blue in the turban more noticeable. Oh, and of course a pinkish purple lip, which also enhanced the pink hues in the turban.

In those moments when you find yourself afraid to try something, try it! You may be pleasantly surpised as to how much you love it. Thanks to this experience, I am now completely and utterly obsessed with turbans!
