For all of us gals who live in colder winter temperatures, we are currently in the timeframe when cabin fever begins to set in. In fact, it’s kinda depressing. You basically go out for the essentials, then return home and sit for hours, upon hours, upon hours. Not exactly an exciting life. However, I think I may have found a solution that will help you avoid hanging out around the homestead 24/7 in these crazy cold temps. Yes, you guessed it. A little wardrobe spruce up! I’ve found that nothing helps me get over cabin fever better than a nice latte and new clothes! ha. And by new clothes, I don’t mean an entire new wardrobe, but just a few key pieces that are “winteresque,” and will transition nicely into spring. I’ve teamed up with my friends at Pink Blush of Irvine, CA to show you how I’ve spruced up my winter wardrobe this year. This post will primarily focus on incorporating new tops and accessories into your wardrobe, so it has a different flavor than what you typical wear throughout the year! Oh yes, I apologize in advance, but this post is a tad long, since I’m not sharing just one look, but THREE. I attempted to collage a few photos via Photoshop last night and in typical technology fashion, Photoshop did not want to cooperate with me. Ugh. Any who, enjoy and be sure to scroll all the way down for a little something, something extra.
LOOK 1
There’s nothing I love more than a beige oversized sweater. Such a great staple to add to your closet! You can wear it with jeans, over a dress or even a maxi skirt. For those of you who are curious, I am totally wearing calve length leggings underneath this skirt to shield coldness. Wearing an oversized sweater and a maxi skirt is a super easy way to change up your winter wardrobe. To put it simply, I wanted to challenge myself to wear something that I typically would not wear during the winter months! However, I would suggest wearing this on a cold day that DOES NOT have snow. I’m pretty sure it would be difficult to navigate the snow in a maxi skirt. ha.

Yes, beige again. I’m really a sucker for neutrals. For this look, I decided to pick more of a form fitting sweater than oversized.I particularly love the crochet detailing on the side. My goal for this look was to simply wear more color! In the winter months, I’ve found that I gravitate to dark colors (i.e. dark blues, blacks and browns). For a little color, I added this beautiful burgundy paisley scarf, which led me to my burgundy crop pants that I absolutely love! From there, I added my go to neutral pieces for winter, suede booties and wool coat. Oh, the bag! I just snagged this beauty from Madewell. It’s the transport tote in dark coco and I’m pretty sure it’s now my 2nd favorite bag on the entire planet. You can literally “transport” everything in this bag! I simply LOVE this outfit. It’s fresh, cheery and bright, but winter appropriate. My ideal winter look for a day full of meetings! Casual, but sophisticated.

Even during the winter months, you need to get out for a date night with your boo thang. Because I typically look like a bum on most days, I like to put a little extra effort into getting dressed when Jason and I go out for dinner or something. However, I will say that most men like it simple. So, I styled this look with Jason in mind! A very no fuss kind of look, yet it’s amazingly chic and well put together! So, I started ensembling this oufitt with the mocha knit sweater top and my dark blue jeans. I then included these wonderful blue jeweled drop earrings, which completely makes the look if you ask me! In hopes of avoiding wearing the same ole winter jacket, I decided to through on this lamb’s wool jacket to change it up a bit. The black piping on the jacket signaled me to add a little more black. Hence the black clutch and heels, making this little number perfect for a night out on the town.
