The New Target Denim

And just when I thought my love for Target couldn’t be any greater, I discovered that it could with just 4 simple words…The.  New. Target. Denim.  I’ve always had issues in the denim department, so I was beyond excited to give Target’s new and improved denim collection a whirl. 10 days and 4 pairs of jeans later, I must admit that I am madly in love.

Before we move on, quick disclaimer: I was traveling quite a bit during this 10 day trail. Rather than bringing multiple tops like I usually do, I decided to switch things up and bring all of my new Target denim and less tops. So, yes, I was a t-shirt repeat offender a couple of days! But that’s ok, because that’s real life. Or at least I think it is.  We can totally agree to disagree on that if needed : )

I received 4 pairs of jeans from Target and they were:

1. Mossimo Mid Rise Skinny Jegging
2. Mossimo Ripped Boyfriend Denim
3. Mossimo Patchwork Boyfriend Denim
4. Mossimo High Rise Flare Denim

 Being the boring and predictable person that I am, I was tad disappointed that I didn’t get more “basic jeans” like the Mossimo Mid Rise Skinny Jegging. However, I had to remind myself that this experience was about all experimentation and experimentation often means stepping outside of your comfort zone! Over the past 5 years, I have primarily worn skinny ankle jeans for the simple fact that it is sooo darn difficult for me to find pants that actually fit. I am pretty used to “settling” in the denim department. At the beginning of the 10-day trail with the new Target denim, I found myself immediately gravitating towards the Mossimo Mid Rise Skinny Jegging because they felt and looked the most comfortable. However, on Day #3, I knew that I would have to force myself to move onto the next pair (now you see why I called myself boring and predictable), and, oh boy, am I glad that I did as I discovered that I totally have a thing for boyfriend jeans! Prior to this experience, I owned one pair of boyfriend jeans, but they aren’t really boyfriend jeans if you know what I mean. However, these Target babies were the real deal. While I received two different styles of boyfriend jeans, I grew particularly fond of the ripped ones, which I would not consider a “Candace thing.”

I also, discovered that the Mossimo High Rise Flare Denim look really good on me! According to my husband, long legs and flare jeans just work, which I agree. Since this year’s fall styles will basically revolve around 70s trends, I am excited to know that I will be able to put these flares to good use. Of all the jeans I received from Target these were definitely the most comfortable for my long days. The material is incredibly light and stretchy. Bonus!

Just in case you haven’t come to this conclusion just yet, I would definitely encourage you to check out Target’s latest collection of denim. Especially if you’ve had denim problems in the past like myself!   Not only is it affordable (approximately $29 per pair), but there is such a wide variety of styles, sizes, and colors. Starting Monday, July 26^th (which was yesterday), if you try on any Target denim from the new collection in the store you’ll receive $10 off! Not a bad deal if you ask me : )
