For as long as I can remember, there has always been a question of whether brown, black and blue go together or not. And if you would have asked me this question during my high school years, I would have screamed from the rooftops that they DO NOT go together. But now that I’m much older and style wiser, I know that they indeed do. In fact, I would dare to say that these colors make for a triple threat when properly combined. The key to making these types of colors work together is making sure they are properly balanced and that there is some element of “lightness” to the final look. For this particular getup, I chose to go with a light blue denim dress to lighten/soften the look, as I knew that I wanted to wear a dark camel brown, khaki and black! Also, rather than going with a bold lipstick and blush, I kept those details as simplistic as possible in hopes of keeping the attention on the clothing color scheme. So, for those of you who thought it was impossible to combine these 3 colors, I’m happy to share that it is doable. Much like the “no white after labor day” and “brown and black don’t go together” rules, this is no longer the case. We are living in the stylistic days of anything goes if done properly!
Oh yes, I’m sorry that you have now seen this sweater like 3 times within the last two weeks, but I’m obsessed and cannot stop wearing it! Everytime I wear it, I think of yet another way to style it…SORRY.
