And we are exactly 16 days away from Christams, which means that the holiday parties are offically going to commence this weekend!! Rather than just buying a lot of holiday pieces that I’ll unlikely wear again throughout the year, I’ve made it a personal goal to either repurpose things that are currently in my closet or to only purchase things that have the ability to be transitional.  I’ve probably said this a million times over the past couple of months, but Old Navy is seriously killin’ it!! A little more than half of my new fall and winter wardrobe has come from Old Navy this year. You can’t beat affordable on-trend fashion! And oh, did I mention lasting. The longevity of Old Navy pieces are seriously incredible if you take care of them properly! Ok, before I get on my clothing preservation soap box, let’s talk Holiday Style. It’s no secret that my personal style emcompasses more preppy elements than anything else! It’s just something about the classic structure and silhouettes that I love. In fact, this aesethetic developed early on in my childhood. In middle school, it was pretty standard for me to wear jeans and a polo of some sort or an A-line skirt with a cardigan. Yup, I was that girl! I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that I inherited this style asethetic from my dad. According to my mom, he was very classic in his style choices!

With “preppy” being a pretty traditional style aesethetic, I really like to go the extra mile and make my choices a bit more unorthodox! During the holidays, there are two primary colors that everyone seems to wear: red and green. While I love those colors, I hate showing up to holiday soirees and discovering that everyone is wearing a slew of red and green. A massive twinning party. With a little help from Old Navy, I decided to take a more unorthodox holiday prep approach by selecting a golden yellow cropped sweater, a black & white plaid skirt and a brushed flannel scarf. Rather than being traditional, I selected colors and prints that still beautifully compliment the holiday season without being too predictable! For a splash of holiday color, I decided to accessorize with a bold red lip and handbag. And for one last hint of juxtaposition, I threw in a few elements of brown by way of my Daniel Wellington Watch, Ray-Ban Clubmaster Fleck sunnies and ankle boots.

So, if you’re looking for some great, affordable holiday options, you should most defintely swing by Old Navy. I promise you won’t be disappointed : )
