There’s just something about fresh blooms that makes my heart happy! Since Jason and I have been married, I’ve made it a priority to be sure that we have fresh flowers somewhere in our house. I’ve tried plants, but I’m a plant killer, so I just stick with flowers. Any who, things have been incredibly busy and I don’t think we’ve had fresh blooms in our place since before Thanksgiving. FAIL. This weekend, while we were out and about killin’ our Christmas shopping, I asked Jason if we could take a little detour to Sam’s Club to pick up some fresh holiday blooms. Some of you may find this surprising, but Sam’s Club is one of my most favorite places to shop! The vast majority of bulk foods and produce comes from Sam’s. For the longest, I was anti-Sam’s, until Jason proved that we actually come out cheaper when we buy things in larger quantities. So, you can find me at Sam’s at least twice per month replenishing the Read pantry in some capacity. In addition to the great produce and all of the free taste testing samples, Sam’s has a pretty killer floral selection. I especially love their assortment of roses. Unfortunately, I arrived too late in the day on Saturday to get any! Once I got there, everything was pretty much gone! NOTE TO SELF: Always go early in the day. The good produce and flowers never make it past Noon on the weekend. Determined not to walk out empty handed, I decided that I was going to make my own little holiday arrangment, so I just grabbed a few different things!
Excited to have some fresh flowers, I was equally excited to checkout, as Sam’s Club is a Current C retailer! Back in early November I shared a little bit about my infinte love for this mobile app that essentailly saves you time and money by centralizing your loyalty cards and payment accounts, and automatically applies coupons, promotions and loyalty rewards at checkout (see post HERE). I’ve been on the go a lot here lately, so I really love that I never have to think about transferring all of my cards from the wallet to my clutch, back to the wallet, to my wrislet and so on. It’s nice to simply pull out your phone to pay, as it is likely already in your hand when you reach the register! We are a mobile device obsessed society. Much like my experience at Target, Wendy’s and CVS, the checkout process was pretty painless! After we wrapped up at Sam’s, we scooted over to Walmart and snagged some hot chocolate and marshmellows and yet again used Current C. The app is in its beta-phase in Columbus, OH, but is preparing for national release super duper soon. I’m looking forward to being able to use this handy dandy tool at more retail locations around the city and the country!!
