Classic Twist

You already know, but I’m a sucker for classic pieces with a little bit of a twist! So naturally, while hanging out the ShopStyle Social House during NYFW, I happened upon this gorgeous Ted Baker Lyxa Dress and just knew that I needed to take it home with me for a spell. While I was drawn to the cut outs, I was also a little nervous due to my scoliosis situation and how awkward my back still is! Things fit a million times better than they did before I had surgery, but I still have a slight hump on my right-hand side. Any who, despite my reservations the fit actually worked well for me! So major bonus. Now let’s talk style. We’ve all heard it a million times, but having a black dress is one of those iconic pieces that every woman needs in her closet. I’m the weirdo that has about 6 or 7 black dresses and frequently look for new ones to add to the mix! In all of my black dress shopping, I have never found a fun LBD dress that suited my more classic taste!  With an exposed bronze zipper and simple square cut outs, I knew that I wanted to keep the focus on those features. So, to do just that, I added a thin belt at the waist. I love how it centralizes and highlights both of the features on the Lyxa dress. As for the other accessories I paired with this look, I knew that I want to keep things simple, hence the neutral combo. By using this color in varying shade on both the top and bottom, it naturally always brings you back to the waist area, which is where the party is happening for this classic look!

Also, can we please talk about the length and fabric of this dress? Seriously magical. While the pricepoint is tad higher than most things I often share here on the blog, this dress is indeed worth it. It’s classic and unique, which makes it one of those wardrobe staples that is bound to turn heads!
