I can’t lie…I woke up yesterday morning and ventured outside for some fresh air to discover a slight breeze in the air…it made my heart skip a beat. While I am an avid summer lover, I am definitely ready to experience the wanderlust of Fall. While the Fall is slowly making her debut, I’ve made the decision to start adding touches of Fall to my wardrobe already…I’m sure you noticed that in last week’s post, Summer Fall Collide. By the way, I think you guys really LIKED that look! It got a ton of love on Instagram. I am definitely gonna try to capture more organic looks for you guys, as you seem to really LOVE them.

When it comes to incorporating touches of fall into my summer wardrobe, I like to do it nice and slow. Incorporating breathable fabrics and fall colored accessories is one of the easiest ways I know to start this transition. I’m a big fan of juxtaposition, so for this particular look I decided to go with a long sleeve top and denim shorts. Call me crazy, but this is one of my favorite ways to mix and match fall attire. The key to wearing a long sleeve top during this time of year is making sure the fabric is indeed breathable or else you will die of heat stroke. Just be sure to keep that in mind. What I love most about this particular top that I snagged a while back from Lyon + Post is that it is double layered in the front and the back, but the sleeves are not. The top is a bit more plunging than I prefer, so I simply layered it with a black cami. Ideally, if I were to recreate this look again, I think I would aim to find a hunter green camisole to further highlight the details in the sleeve cuff.

One of the reasons I was drawn to this top was the burgundy accent in the sleeve cuff, so to further accentuate that detail I decided to go with my favorite tassel earrings and deep red-ish lip. I really feel that these two additions really made the look much more cohesive and intentional. Oh, and of course, I chose neutral accessories. Neutral anything is my love language! ha.

So, as you start to say goodbye to the sweet summertime, I encourage you to add a few easy-like touches of fall to your wardrobe. I feel confident in saying it will make your transition much more seamless!
