Back in early June, I was asked to participate in Capital Style‘s first ever blogger collaboration! Excited does not even begin to explain how thrilled I was upon receiving the e-mail…just ask my husband. For those of you who are wondering, what’s Capital StyleCapital Style {also affectionately known as capstyle} is a Columbus women’s magazine that spotlights fashion, shopping, events and much more. Let’s just put it this way, women who read Capital Style desire to be in the know!

On Saturday, June 27th, 5 style bloggers and 5 Insta photographers, met for an incredible day of adventure! The purpose of this collaboration was to celebrate the beauty of a 70s themed fall fashion. Each style blogger was asked to choose a song a from the 70s that inspired her look and was paired with an Instagrammer, who’s goal was to highlight the clothing photographically with their own unique artistry. I was paired with Matthew Garsky, who was incredibly awesome. He was all about adventure and exploring to find some of the most creative places that would best compliment the clothing! I Despite the gloomy day, we shot all 4 of the looks I planned for the shoot.  Each look was uniquely captured and truly embodied elements from the 70s. The song that influenced my looks was “Killing Me Softly With His Song” by Roberta Flack. As you will notice, I used neutrals and various shades of light pink. The inspiration for this specific color combo came from Pantone’s Color of the Year, Marsala. Various shades of neutrals, greys and pinks are considered “in color balance”, shades for Marsala. Also, as many of you know, I love neutrals and muted pastels and I wanted to showcase that element of my style.  Ok, I cannot tell you anymore details, because then you won’t read the article! The September/October Edition of Capital Style is now available via select newsstand. Click HERE to see where you can purchase a print copy in Columbus, OH. Also, please go and follow @matthewgarsky via Instagram. His Insta feed is beyond wonderful and I feel confident in saying that you will absolutely love it!
