So, if you follow a decent amount of American style bloggers on social media, it’s no surprise that WE ALL are talking 4th of July style!

Much like Christmas, it’s simply one of those holidays that WE MUST share about. However, in randomly scrolling my Instagram I noticed that the majority of us {meaning bloggers} only talk about the 4th from a casual perspective. With that in mind, I felt inspired to do something a bit more fanciful for this year’s 4th of July style post. A bit earlier this Spring, I received this killer pleated poplin skirt from eShakti {currently on SALE} and I have waited for the perfect opportunity to “werk” it! With my fanciful 4th idea in mind, I knew that thiis skirt would be beyond perfect for this look!

With the nature of this skirt being a bit more dress up, I wanted to make sure the overall look still had a playful and causal tone, hence the reason I decided to add this off-shoulder top from Aerie. And yes, between my blog, Instagram and Snapchat, you’ve probably seen this top about a million times over the last couple of weeks! But that’s just how much I love it. It’s incredibly versatile and goes with nearly every pair of bottoms I have! And not to mention, due to the style of top, it’s one of those pieces that you can only wear for a short amount of time, so I am getting ALL OF MY WEARS in before summer is over! LOL. Any who, back to the outfit. One of the details I love most combination t is how it perfectly floats over the waistband, which minimizes the amount midriff showing.

Since no 4th of July look is not complete without a touch of red, I decided to go with a bold red lip and my Louboutins for a splash of color. As for the reminder of the accessories,  I simply reached for my go-to pieces which include, oversized sunnies, the ever faithful vintage monogram necklacestatement watch and of course a Gigi New York clutch. Instead of reaching for my uber clutch, I loved the coloring of this crossbody and how it contrasts the navy blue skirt, so I changed things up!

While wearing a full poplin skirt may not be ideal for most 4th of July gatherings, I think this would be a lovely look for a quick 4th of July brunch in the City {aka NYC},a party in the Hamptons or just a family BBQ if you wanted to step things up a few notches. Haha!  Obviously, pumps would not work out well for a family BBQ situation, so I would just pair down with a pair of great flats or wedges!
