It’s been nearly a month since the launch of GQ Style and I gotta say, I think you guys liked it! I received lots of great feedback. So thank you for that. With graduate school ALMOST complete, I’m looking for new verticals to explore and men’s fashion just may be one of them! Lots to think about, but in the meantime, let’s just talk style. GQ Style Part 2 is all about the shawl collar sweater. Of all the wonderful things in men’s fashion, the shawl collar sweater is by far one of my favorites. What I love about this particular piece is its ability to add dimension to any look. Whether it’s a more every day casual look, business professional or dress up, the shawl collar sweater is gonna give it that “WOW” factor. So for this particular style adventure, I wanted to showcase a great shawl collar sweater look.
Traditionally speaking, I feel like most men like to play it safe with color. They have their specific color wheel and hardly ever venture outside of the circle. Rather than being traditional, we have chosen a little grey monochromatic theme. Per the usual, most of you already know that I have a serious love for monochromatic styling. The choice of grey on grey gives the look more dynamic and dimension. Additionally, it creates a nice pallet for accessorizing. The aviator sunglasses and boots really complete the look and it gives a bit more depth! So, I know it’s the end of February and I’m talking sweater style, but let’s be honest…men’s clothing is NOT CHEAP. NOW is the time to shop in preparation for 2016 fall/winter. Rather than saving this post for September, I encourage you to do a little online shopping. The vast majority of men’s fall/winter clothing is on sale right now! Pieces like the shawl collar sweater are timeless, so it really doesn’t really matter what time of the year you purchase it…you’ll (or if you are shopping for your HIM, he’ll) be able to wear it forever!
