I gotta admit something. The bloggersphere sure can make you want EVERYTHING during Christmas time. I mean EVERYTHING. For the last two weeks I’ve said some variation of the following: “OMG, I want that! OMG. Jason can I please buy this? I think I have enough money in my she money stash to buy that! Ooohh…I wonder if my mom will get me that for Christmas?” Blah. While I understand this is a huge earning time of the year, because everyone is shopping, it’s also really sad that Christmas becomes all about consumerism. I mean, that’s why we have dumb holidays like Valentine’s Day. LOL. Without getting too preachy, I felt very strongly that I need to have a quick moment of transparency with you guys…buying gifts and new outfits is one tiny element of Christmas, so don’t allow that to rule YOU for the entire season. Christmas, much like Thanksgiving, is a time to be thankful for life, your faith, your family, your friends, etc. So, rather than shoving loads of things that you need to buy down your throat for the next month, I want to take a much more practical approach and share simple ways that I’m cutting back this holiday season, in hopes of celebrating the birth of Christ and spending quality time with the ones I love most! Now, don’t get me wrong…I will be sharing some newly purchased/I want things, as I am totally human and a self-proclaimed shopoholic! But I just wanted you guys to know my intentions are pure and sincere : ) It’s my goal to share pracitcal things that you will have, love and value for a lifetime!! After all, having a great wardrobe is about acquiring pieces that are moldable and transitional!

One of the simple ways that I’m decreasing my consumerism this holiday season is by simply sprucing up my existing wardrobe and making it holiday appropriateI’m convinced that you can never go wrong with a classic little black dress for any time or season of the year…it’s just one of those pieces that always works!! I swear I own like 6 or 7 black dresses. For this specfic holiday look I wanted a fun, yet sophisticated party-esque look, so I decided to go with this pleated dress by Basically Me that I’ve had for like 4 years! In hopes of giving it a little refresh, I scooted over to TJ Maxx to find a great piece of custom jewelry and ended up finding a pretty spectular belt by Steve Madden that cost me all of $12.99…#winning. Based on the colors of the bead work, I decided to continue with the black and bronze theme by accessorizing with those same colors to create a clean and sophiscated holiday look! Oh, and for a little extra glam, I decided to whip out my Vera Wang Ina Frames from the Kenmark Group. I’m seriously in love!

So, there you have it loves! A simple and cheap fix that took this old LBD to a Holiday LBD in all of 2.5 seconds : ) Gotta love it!
