I wish I was cool enough to say that every single look I capture for the site was sheer PERFECTION. But the truth is, that isn’t exactly always the outcome. I have quite the massive folder on my external hard drive of unpublished imagery, because things did not pan out as planned, my shirt wasn’t tucked properly (like in this oufit…haha), etc. As a creative, I am always striving to share the most perfectly curated moments with you all. However, as I am growing individually, I’m learning that there is truly beauty in those imperfect moments. If we take a moment to be honest with ourselves, life isn’t perfect and rarely ever goes the way we “plan” it. Life is wildly unpredictable, constantly changing and surprising us in ways we never fully prepared for. As an incredibly Type A individual, I am trying to find joy in those imperfect moments. A big part of finding that joy is to respond, rather than just react. Yeah, chew on that thought for awhile.
Here’s to imperfect, unplanned moments in life. May we respond to them as teachable moments to improve ourselves, rather than react in disappointment and frustration. And yes, I just used an outfit as a life parable. haha.
