It’s that time…that time of the year to shine! Without question, November and December are the most magical months of the year. From hosting friends to decorating to holiday shopping to holiday soirees there’s so much excitement! In my opinion, one of the best parts about the holidays is gathering with family and friends. While I definitely consider myself a lover of the glitzy things, when it comes to my holiday style, I’m all about being cozy and layering on a touch of chicness. We (meaning Jason and I) often travel to the small towns we grew up in to spend time with our families. You can find me in the kitchen making super cool snacks or a salad, playing with the littles and inevitably making my way to the couch for a good afternoon snooze. So as you can see, cozy is definitely the right focus for my style! But cozy doesn’t mean you can’t SHINE. When it comes to a dose of cozy chic, it’s all about finding the right pants and cardigan! While shopping at Express, I was drawn to these cool faux leather leggings. Not only are they leggings, which means you’ll have plenty of room for seconds, but these pants are also textured. Incorporating various textures is a great way to add dimension to any look. Furthermore, these faux leather leggings create the illusion of a more elevated look, but they are just leggings…winning! Up next, an oversized cardigan. Honestly, what is life without a cozy cardigan? The thickness and rich colors of this knit make it perfect for the holiday cardigan. Depending on the occasion, you can dress this piece up or down. Outside of its magical colors, I love the shape of this cardigan’s sleeves – the slide slits and most importantly, the longer length in the back. Tush coverage is super important when wearing a legging!
To layer in more of that festive holiday feel, I reached for this super lovely velvet cami (that comes in some pretty amazing colors including a gorgeous teal that I also snagged for myself) and these statement teardrop earrings. Combined with the other pieces, they instantly give my cozy look a touch of festive luxe! And there you have it, a casual look that SHINES!
I sure hope you have the most magical Thanksgiving! We are currently hanging out with family in the Carolina’s and then will be scooting to Georgia a little later for more family togetherness!
