As you may already know, I have a thing for dresses paired with sneaks. This particular combo has been on repeat for me for the majority of the summer. With Fall rapidly approaching, the mere thought of no more bare legs makes me want to cry.

Just a few days back, I walked into TJ Maxx to window shop, only to discover that they were having a massive clearance sale. I’m talking $10 clearance racks. Retail heaven…woot woot. I found quite a few things that ended up going home with me, but my proudest purchase was this basic black dress. I immediately knew that this would be a great dress up, dress down piece. Because I love the dress/sneaks combo so much, I decided to from a laidback feel for this particular look. To be honest, there isn’t a whole lot to this look. Just a bunch of pieces thrown together to create what I like to call, “laidback luxe.” While it is more of a causal look, it has an element of luxuriousness. I’m thinking it’s the red lipstick, the pearl earrings and the strap on the handbag that makes it all luxe and such.
