I’ve officially been a #scadfash graduate for a total of 10 days! And honestly, it feels weird to not have homework or the extreme anxiety anymore. I’m thankful that its DONE, but I currently feel like I’m in a weird transitional phase. Such is life though. Now that I’ve had a little bit of time to catch up on life (aka organize my office, unbox tons of packages and respond to the 5000 emails in my inbox), I wanted to kick off my OFFICIAL return to weekly blogging by sharing my looks from my recent trip to Savannah for graduation. I’ve desired to better integrate my love for fashion and frequent travels and I’m hoping that this short series can spark some creativity on travel inspired posts for Live Love and Read. I think its high-time to start expanding the content, so you guys can have a more fulfilling reading experience here. Any who, I won’t ramble on too long…let’s get to look #1 of my 3 day adventure, Savannah Nights.

After the quickest 9 hour drive from Parkersburg to Savannah (it was only quick because I slept 7 of the 9 hours), we made it to Savannah around 3:30PM. We knew it would be pretty HOT temperature-wise, but I do not think we were prepared for how hot it actually was. Packing super minimally (simply because I was not interested in over packing, due to sleep deprivation), I was not left with too many outfit options for the e-Learning soiree at Gustein Gallery. Also, I should mention that I had all of an hour to get my life together after a long day of travel. I’m pretty quick on getting dressed, but one hour was simply not enough time to shave my legs! So, the focal point of this look started with unshaved legs. Despite the crazy hit, I opted for these relaxed and breezy pants from Aerie. Continuing with the relaxed vibe, I added this hi-lo polka-dotted cami by Basically Me that is forever old!  In fact, it’s from a sweet little boutique that I use to work at when Jason and I were dating back in Spring of 2012. Oh, the memories!

In having a super relaxed top and pant, I knew that the dress up factor would come by way of the accessories. To give this outfit a more polished and refined look, I paired her with these caged sandals (that I purchased the day before at Nordstrom) and this oversized clutch by Gigi New York. For finishing touches, I simply added these oversized faux pearls, my favorite Michael Kors watch and of course the Karen Walker frames. Oh, a ponytail! I was hoping to curl my hair, but I thought the low pony better suited my simplistic and relaxed vibe. Also, let’s be honest…natural hair and Savannah humidity just don’t jive well. I would have been shooting myself in the foot with those curls. haha. Maybe next time the Savannah humidity can be a bit nicer to me…probably not…but a girl can dream.

  1. Where did you purchase your watch? I went on your link but it did not bring up this particular watch. Love your blog.

    1. Hi Connie! This particular style is quite old. Let me do some looking around to see if I can find a style that better matches the one I currently have. Stay tuned!

      xoxo, CR
