When I wake up in the morning I normally ask myself this question, “Do I want to look ordinary or out of the box today?” Most days I answer with OUT OF THE BOX. What I love most about fashion is that daily it provides you with an opportunity to express yourself and as we  all know self expression is extremely important. With those thoughts in mind, I have decided to feature an additional segment on the blog entitled “Get The Look Thursdays!” The purpose of this addition is to share how I style some of my most favorite wardrobe pieces and make them OUT OF THE BOX. Oh yes, and to also share where I purchased them from. In the words of my grandmother…”sharing is caring!” Since you now know the purpose of this new segment, let’s get this party started! After all it is Thursday.

Cool, Calm and Neutral

I really enjoy wearing lots of loud, bold colors, however there is something so calming about neutrals. My closet is full of tan, beige, taupe, light brown, dark brown, grey and black things! The greatest benefit to having these types of colors in your closet is that they easily transition from one season to the next, but they are especially awesome when Fall time comes!

Don’t you love the hat? It just makes the outfit fun and a little more OUT OF THE BOX, however it is not needed to complete the look.  You could ditch both the purse and the hat and still have a rocking good look for a casual day at the office or just to grab coffee or lunch with a friend.IMG_4244 IMG_4245

And oh yes, these shoes are everything. They literally match every outfit in my closet.

IMG_4228IMG_4229For this look the C. Wonder silk button down was the foundation piece for building this ensemble. From there I then added the black H&M floppy hat and the Gap denim jeans. Because of those two additions I personally felt that I had no other choice but to continue with soft camel brown, ivory, taupe and a brownish grey in which those colors are represented in the shoes, handbag, statement necklace and the cardigan. And to my surprise the look turned out even greater than I thought it would! So in conclusion, when pairing neutrals remember to keep it simple and build the ensemble one piece at a time as it will create awesome cohesion in your look!
