One of things I love most about Fashion is that it’s a continuous lifecycle. Seemingly all the cool styles and brands that I wore as a young gal are becoming staples in my life again. From turtlenecks to overalls to Keds, there’s a whole load of nostalgia happening in my wardrobe right now. Only difference is that I’m older.  It feels just like yesterday that I was stepping into a new school year rockin’ my fresh white Keds with white lace ankle socks. Oh, the memories!

When you grow up and find yourself rewearing similar kicks from your younger years, you realize that your parents were investing in more than a trend, but a true heritage brand. As an adult gal, with her own money, you take delight in knowing this, as you step into a newly designed pair of Keds sneakers. With Fall just mere days away and comfort being at the forefront of my shoe game, I’m over the moon (Aren’t you glad the solar eclipse madness is over?) about Ked’s Fall ’17 collection. With a combination of traditional Keds lace up to slip ons with a slight platform, the collection has something for every gal.

As of lately, I’ve found myself reaching for more slip-on sneakers. I honestly think it’s because I don’t enjoy handwashing shoe laces, but nonetheless, I love the clean line of a slip-on. What adds a layer of interest to this slip-on from the KEDS x kate spade new york collection is the texture…calf hair. If you’ve been following me since the early days of Live Love and Read then you know I’ve got a special place in my heart for textures and creating juxtaposition within a look. This textured slip-on sneaker is allowing me to do just that with some of my early fall looks. With the weather often being in-between for the majority of late August and September, finding uniquely textured pieces such as this slip-on allows you to take one step into Fall while still lingering in the wanderlust of Summer. For this summer to fall transitional look, I’ve paired my new cushioned and perfectly stylish slip-ons with a denim capris, a breathable ¾ length tee, a suede moto (for those ideal temperature days) and a basket handbag.

Stepping into Fall isn’t always about having the perfect clothing pieces, but about having the perfect pair of shoes that will allow you to move into the next season confidently, stylishly and most importantly, comfortably.
