ALL IMAGES KIMBERLY J.

Spring may officially be here according to the calendar, but it’s NOT here physically. Well, at least not in Ohio. Per the weather app on my iPhone, we do have some “warmer” days on the horizon. However, considering how bipolar our winter has been, I am not getting my hopes up just yet! It is highly likely that we’ll be floating between winter and spring for the next little bit.

While I truly hate being in between seasons, I do love layers! More often than not, I wear the majority of my layered looks during seasonal transitions. One of my favorite things to wear for Spring is a SKIRT! I don’t know what it is about them, but they just scream spring to me. When we are having weird weather such as this, I typically like to begin styling my maxi and midi skirts. For this particular look, I opted for the faithful blush maxi skirt that I snagged from TJ Maxx nearly four years ago. I think I paid like $20 bucks. #winning. I’ve styled this skirt a couple of different ways over the years, so it’s always fun to give something old new life! The best way to give life to something that you’ve had for AGES is to pair it with something new. Well, you know that my newest love is this suede moto jacket. It has not been on repeat as much as I was planning for due to the extreme cold, so I’ve been itching to style it. Additionally, you guys know that I have a thing for mixin’ and matchin’ feminine and masculine textures together! It literally makes my heart soo happy.

To complete this winter to spring look, I layered it with a sleeveless mock neck. I selected grey for the simple fact that it allowed the color of the jacket and the skirt to not compete with one another. Grey served as the balance or neutralizing color. Continuing with the masculine theme, I opted for my favorite wool fedora,  black ankle boots and vintage black aviators! To finish things off, I wanted to further accentuate things by highlighting the gold details in the boots and the sunnies. Soooo yes, loads of gold accessories! Oh, my Madewell Transport Crossbody, because it literally goes with any and everything. If memory serves me correctly, Madewell just added to this a suede texture for this style and new colors!
