I love makeup. I almost love makeup as much as I love clothes. Since my younger years, I’ve always been attracted to the pretty feminine things in life. Earrings, perfume, high heels, pocketbooks, lipstick…you name it and I’m positive that my mom would guarantee that I loved it. A few of you may remember this from a previous blog post, but for those of you who don’t, I was totally the kid who wore bright red lipstick by Jane for picture day. That being said, makeup and all things beauty have been a part of my DNA for years now. Random rabbit trail…it totally just hit me like a ton of bricks yesterday that I’m 26 years old! Where did time go? I was just 18 like 5 minutes ago. #idigress

In growing older, I have come to learn that I really value where I spend my beauty dollars! While there is nothing wrong with generic makeup, I prefer to use products that are a bit more expensive than what you can snag at CVS or Duane Reade. I’ve found that paying a bit more does equate to better quality, longer lasting wear and that good stuff. However, the only kicker is the price! I have no problem paying for moderate to expensively priced makeup if I know, that I know, THAT I KNOW it works. So, I basically live for samples in the beauty world. Nine times out of ten, I will not commit to a product (meaning I won’t buy full size) until I know that it really works for my lifestyle! And just in case you haven’t concluded by now, I’m a huge fan of Birchbox. I’ve been on the Birchbox bandwagon since the very beginning thanks to my sister frand, Emily Loftiss (aka Loftiss). For $10 a month you get to try all of these wonderful beauty products. One of my most recent boxes included some amazing dry shampoo and a new lippie that I’m beyond obsessed with now. Oh, how could I not mention the cute box designs. They are seriously the cutest and I may or may not look forward to receiving the boxes more than the actual products…LOL. Anywho, for those of you who’ve been on the fence about trying Birchbox, you should give it a whirl! It’s truly a great concept with wonderful people who are passionate about all things beauty!
