Hello Summertime. Well not yet, but almost. Can you even believe that June is nearing? I can’t, because it feels like just yesterday we were welcoming 2021 and now we are halfway through the year. Sheer craziness. While I can’t believe that June is nearly here, I can admit that I am ready for a change of pace when it comes to my skincare. A little less focus on hydration during the summer months and a little more focus on doing everything to keep a radient and natural glow.

Being the skincare enthusiast that I am, I fully believe that it is important that we shift things a touch for seasonal change ahead. Much like our clothing, we need to rotate things, because our seasonal priorties and needs have changed. As I shared above, my number one goal during the summer is really to keep a beautiful natural glow. We are heading to the beach this weekend, which means I’ll be getting my first kiss of the summer sun and I want to do everything possible to maintain and build upon her for the weeks to come. So today, I am giving you the rundown of my summer skincare changeup that will allow me to glow until September!

MASK

This mask. There are no words to describe how amazing it is. Priced at nearly $60, she is worth every penny. Apply approximately 3 times per week and leave on for 20 minutes. Guaranteed instant glow that you will thank me for!

VITAMIN C SERUM

Vitamin C is essential year-round, but mega essential during the summer months. Vitamin C aids in controlling the formation of hyperpigmentation and also provides a natural sun protection. Before we go on…SPF is still KEY. But the vitmain C helps to boost your skin’s tolerance of the sun. My go-to choice for Vitamin C is BeautyCounter Counter + serum. It is most magical. And again, an investment that your skin will thank you for. I don’t know one person who uses the product and has regretted it. NOT ONE.

SKIN TINT

Let’s be honest, actual foundation during the summer months is completely mad. It’s hot and no one wants to feel like their face is melting. From May to September, I transition my foundation to this super tint by ILIA that is full of amazing things: niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and packed with SPF 40. It’s nice and thin and adds just the right amount of coverage.

OIL FREE MOISTURIZER

I prefer a lightweight moisturizer during the summer season. And this one right here by Summer Fridays is my new favorite. It’s an oil-free, gel-based cream that has rocked my world. Since it is gel-based, the cream is cool, making it even more magical to apply after a long hot day.

LIP BALM

Hyrdate those lips and tint them. Again, sticking to my theme of keeping it natural, I love this lip balm by Fresh.

BODY EXFOLIATOR

Exfoliation during the summer days is majorly important. With warmer temps, our body is much more likely to produce excessive oil, which can lead to clogged pores. Clogged pores due to increased oil producation on top of  sunscreen and standard skincare…eeeeeekkkk? To keep your summer glow going, you want to exfoliate at least once a week to get rid of that dead skin and to open the pores. My exfoliant of choice is Nécessaire’s The Body Exfoliator, which you can now snag at Sephora. woot woot.

PRIMER

I always like to splurge on one new makeup product each season and for this summer, I landed on Chanel’s Les Beiges. It’s a lightweight gel texture that can be utilized as a primer before applying foundation or you can use it for the bare skin effect. I’ll be using it mostly on bare skin to enhance my summer glow. This product instantly enhances glow and energizes the face, making it perfect for the gal who is looking to be more natural during the summer heat.

Ok, that’s all I have for you today. I hope you enjoyed this and I am curious to know, which product are you most excited to get your hands on? And oh yes, is there anything else I should know about? If so, drop a comment down below!
